Just received it today. Build instructions are in a Wiki, and someone has posted a private video on Youtube of a timelapse build.

About 1/4 done. It looks more
About 1/4 done. It looks more done, 'til I look at the big pile of parts next to it.
The electronics are an Arduino Mega0256 plugged into a board that has drivers for the head heater, an optional board heater, and plug-ins for stepper driver boards with four installed and one extra empty position.
sweet :) hope the build goes

Progress... putting together
Progress... putting together the extruder head, and noticed I'd installed two of the pieces in the machine on opposite ends. Doh! Have to remove a few pieces to reverse them.
I think I was thinking of right and left as it pertains to driving.
Extruder assembly together, X
Extruder assembly together, X-Y axes installed, got the reversed pieces back in the right way.
Left-right in the plans is according to the builder's L-R.
Working on the Z build platform now.
Noticed there is an extra (empty) slot for a 5th stepper driver... The version of the Ultimaker that I have does not really allow for adding a 2nd head.
Now all I've got left is to
Now all I've got left is to install the electronics and route the rest of the wiring.
Woot, exciting! Can't wait to
Woot, exciting! Can't wait to see it once it's done!
Any designs for Laser cutters
Any designs for Laser cutters we can make with a 3D printer? The only one I'm aware of requires a Laser cutter.
Notice how "LASER" is no longer an acronym, but a word in its own right?
It's done, it's done! I've
It's done, it's done! I've done everything but actually firing it up. Driver is installed and communicating. Manual movement works (found I forgot to tighten one setscrew).
I'm taking it to work (my boss has been waiting for me to finish this) and bringing it to the Maker Faire preplanning meeting tonight at the space.
RRgg.... had it working last
RRgg.... had it working last night. Didn't print yet, but had the Ultimaker version of ReplicatorG installed. Ran the X, Y, and Z motors in manual mode.
This morning, that version of ReplicatorG won't start.
Took out the .replicatorg folder, installed the latest generic version of ReplicatorG. It starts, but it keeps telling me that something else is using that com port. Ran a fix on the driver, rebooted multiple times, deleted the config folder .replicatorg multiple times, still no joy.
I'm running a system restore to 4 days ago. Wish me luck.
arrrg indeed. Bring it anyway
arrrg indeed. Bring it anyway, if you don't have any luck before tonight, I'm sure one of us software guys can pound it into submission.
No joy with ReplicatorG.
No joy with ReplicatorG.
Finally tried something called Cura, supposed to be easier. All I know is that it worked.
I think I need to tweak the feedrate a little higher. I'm bringing it.
