My critique

There is a visual critique. Also, the rich text format doesn't agree with Firefox' spellcheck or cut & paste.

Good observation. Part of the problem is the use of the '960' grid - which is actually broken into 4 layouts: mobile, <=740px, <=960px, and <=1180px. By default, it doesn't stretch past this.

Unfortunately, web design is not my forte - I've gotten some pretty cool stuff working, but not necessarily tweaked exactly how I wanted it. I will try to get the content area stretching, at least on the wide layout. I tried a few things when I saw this post initially, but didn't have any success. I'll keep you posted on any updates (or you'll notice when it suddenly changes - one of those two)

Can you give me some more info on the rich text format? Is it related to the size of the editing area vs the size of its container? Another thing I've been trying to fix, but need to figure out some more CSS tricks to make it work.

I don't think my comment editor problems have anything to do with size, but I could be wrong. What I mean about the compatibility with Firefox is that I don't get warnings for misspelled words, and I can't cut and paste using the mouse commands. It does work with ctrl+v, though. When I try the mouse command it gives me an error saying that I cannot do it with Firefox, and to find more info here.
